Two years ago I had to do a lot of persuasion (and cajoling and pressuring) before Lokka agreed to a Butterfly Bush. But now, he loves it. It has grown to more than double its original size and we have butterflies come to it, which makes the kids love it too.
We hope that the shrubs will grow together and form a privacy barrier between us and the neighbors.
Slightly off topic... you can also tell that on sunny days like this, I enjoy hanging the laundry on the branches of the giant apple tree. :)
