Goings on in Idaho

July 19-24: 

Various family members visited over a period of a week.  

The main event was the slide show...  Kelli, Steph, Lokka (Channa) visited me in SL for 16 days and we did a crazy road trip of 1700 miles over that period.  Our friends were interested in seeing out pictures.  So we pooled our slides (~3000), cut it down to ~500 (that would be me) and then further cut it to ~150 (Steph) and had a slide show for about 40 people at Steph's house (another ~30 people couldn't make it, so we might do a second showing at some point).  Steph made kiribath (with hakuru), and papadam, and I made roti (with onion and chilie) and pol sambal and lunu miris.  Steph did a great job of telling the story of our trip - very engaging story teller.

Other activities were the Ann Morrison Park, Birds of Prey center.

Two of the "older" members of our party got over heated - one needed to be cooled down with ice packs, the other had to go to the doctor.  The temperature was consistently exceeding 100F (39C) every day. So, the "older" contingent left earlier than expected.  Katie and I stayed for a week and then returned to Oregon.
