Daisy

Oct 25-27:
Frivolous purchase from Ikea
A string of 10 light with suction cups $6

It is always nice to hang out with Daisy, and this time it was a "double pleasure" - no, not Double-mint Gum.  Helios was there a well - what a sweet, sweet person.

Spring rolls = good
Lunu Dehi Drink = good
Tamarintini = not so good,
couldn't taste the tamarind
Our first productive act that evening was to go out to dinner at Tamarind Tree, a Vietnamese place near 12th and Yessler.  Unfortunately it was too late to also walk over to our favorite tofu place.
Our dinner = good

Tamarintini (martini with tamarind) was so-so, but the salt and sour fizzy drink was excellent.  Daisy has got a Lunu-Dehi recipe now and she is going to make her own  :)

Saturday was very gloomy... very Seattle-in-the-fall.  I read my book, did some jigsaw puzzles.  Daisy did what she does best - she baked and baked and baked  :)  This time it was cinnamon swirl bread and cocktail buns (sweet buns with coconut inside).  In the evening we bundled up and went for a walk in the neighborhood.  The Halloween decoration were in full force, and the fall colors on the trees were spectacular  :)

Then we moved some furniture around to earn our dinner - fried rice with veggies.

Helios left on Sunday - Daisy packed half the bread off with him.  But of course, the other half was still available  :)   We spent the afternoon at Ikea - not being frivolous, but seriously shopping with a serious list of stuff she needed.  Of course, we did end up with a few not so needed items that were not on the list, but for the most part, it was a productive afternoon.

Long conversations, long walk down to Lincoln Park - enjoyable, as always.  Watched the sunset, and then walked quickly back before the wooded area in the park got too dark.  When I was visiting in March I just about collapsed in a heap going up and down the steepness, but this time, I was in much better shape.

The sun came out in the afternoon...

...and it has set now

A small nondescript place for dinner... Lee's Asian Restaurant... the food was exceptional (as was the company - hehehehe).

Tomorrow...  off to Anacortes...
