My Date with the Girls

Jan 3rd:

It was their Christmas present - a meal at the place of their choice, and a movie of their choice with Aunt K.

Momos - Food of the Himalayas
They selected Momo's - excellent choice.  We all enjoyed the food.  "The food of the Himalayas".

We then went traipsing around a new shopping area called "The Village" that has opened up near by.  It was my first time there.

The girls gave me the tour of a few of the shops there - Gordman's, Maurice's, Charming Charlie's.  Then it was time for ice cream at La Creme after which it was time for the movie - Saving Mr Banks.
I liked the movie but it was a very sad story of a grown woman still grieving for her father who died at a young age from alcoholism.  I came "this" close to crying right there in the movie theater!!!

We went back to La Creme for a piece of pie for the road, and that brought our time together to a close.  I enjoyed my afternoon/evening very much - they are growing up to be such interesting and responsible and fun-loving young ladies.

Pictures from our evening...

We followed this car so that Katie could have a picture of the "KT N ME" licence plate.

The girls took me to Christopher's art installation

I love this sculpture of a
girl on a pile of books,
being carried away by a swing
held up by butterflies.  It
tells me books can take you
to all kids of places.

This pattern in the courtyard caught my eye

Enjoying ice cream - yes, in 20F degree weather
