October 12th: I know that when we get the first snow on the ground traffic can come to a grinding halt because some have forgotten how to drive in snow. But, does this happen with rain too?
It had not rained here in many, many months and then it rained this afternoon.
It took me 45 minutes to get to Beaverton which is about how long it usually takes, but then it took me 80 minutes to get back later in the evening! The only change was the rain.
Traffic on I-5 was moving at about 40 mph most of the time, and at times even slower!
Very odd!!!
Maybe the locals know that the roads are prone to hydroplaning, and I am the only one who doesn't know this!
