This is the third in a string of birthdays - with more to come. We took a reprieve from family gatherings and gave Thanksgiving a miss because of the 2 birthday gatherings in the prior 2 weeks, and because of this gathering this week.
The usual crew gathered at Lokka's house for lunch. It was a potluck lunch with Thaththo bringing rice and 2 curries, me bringing lasagna, green bean casarole (Marilyn's "heirloom" recipe - hehe), Chuki bringing pork curry and kiri/pani dessert (real Kitul pani), and Rattan bringing noodle/veggie salad, Batu's favorite salt and pepper squid, and the birthday cake. We never lack for food at our gatherings!!!
Talking of the cake... Rattana made a marble cake with chocolate icing. She made it the night before and Ammi and I went over there for "moral support" :) The marbling on the cake was not pretty enough for Rattana's liking, so we made a second cake with prettier marbling - all in honor of the birthday boy!

Sue was not able to attend, but she sent a present over with Steve - a great drink recipe, and as an added bonus, the ingredients for the drink. Chuki mixed the drink and it didn't take the crew very long at all to polish it off!!!
